Online Watercraft Registration Renewal

Instructions

To complete the online watercraft registration renewal, review the information that appears in the online form and make any necessary changes.

If a fee is due, you must pay for your online watercraft registration renewal by credit card using Visa or MasterCard .
Your credit card payment is processed as a secure, encrypted transaction for your protection. An additional $1.50 service charge will be included.

There is a non-refundable $2.00 fee for adding a new motor or updating an existing motor.

CHANGE OF ADDRESS:
If your address is different from that shown on this renewal form, enter your correct address in the space provided.

CHANGE OF WATERCRAFT LOCATION:
If location information has changed, enter corrected or new information as indicated.

• Select county or city IN VIRGINIA where watercraft is normally garaged, docked or parked. This information is required by the Code of Virginia for providing personal property tax information to the commisioner of revenue for the county or city listed.
• Enter county or city IN VIRGINIA where watercraft is normally used.

CHANGE IN STATUS OF OWNERSHIP:
To change the social security number for owner(s), you must complete and return the renewal form that was mailed to you via mail or in person.
If there has been change in the status of ownership, you must manually complete Section 6 of the renewal form that was mailed to you and return it to:

          Richmond, Virginia 23230-1528

MOTOR INFORMATION:
If your watercraft has a motor in excess of 25 horsepower and:

1. has never been titled
   or
2. has already been titled and your motor has been changed,
   enter the motor information as follows:

• Enter the serial number of the motor. If you are unable to locate a serial number, a notarized affidavit must accompany the application.
• Select the make. If you cannot find it, select OTHER from the selection menu and enter make.
• Enter horsepower.
• Select propulsion method.
• Select fuel type.
• If watercraft has already been titled and your motor has changed, complete the ONLINE WATERCRAFT RENEWAL FORM and mail the ORIGINAL TITLE to the address above.
